Product Introduction
It is a raw material for the manufacture of thermosetting resins, light-curing epoxy resin coatings, oil-resistant coatings, and stoving coatings. Its copolymer emulsions are used for fiber finishing, textile, leather, and paper coatings. It is also used as an adhesive for wood and metal. It is used as a crosslinking monomer in acrylic emulsions. For carboxyl-containing acrylic emulsion pressure-sensitive adhesives, the dosage should be 1% to 2% of the total monomer weight. Exceeding 3% significantly reduces initial adhesion. For carboxyl-free emulsion adhesives, the dosage generally does not exceed 5%. The crosslinking reaction temperature of MMAM alone is relatively high, generally 120-170°C. Adding a proton-type catalyst can lower the crosslinking temperature. Acrylic acid (AA) can both donate hydrogen protons and copolymerize with acrylates. Therefore, MMAM is used in a composite crosslinker with AA, with a 3:2 ratio being the optimal dosage. Crosslinker HA can replace N-methylol acrylamide and is formaldehyde-free.
